Cascade Head

Cascade Head is a haven for rare plants, wildlife and grassland communities once abundant along the Oregon Coast. This spectacular coastal headland provides critical habitat for native prairie grasses, rare wildflowers and the Oregon silver spot butterfly. There is an upper and lower trailhead to access this beautiful hike. Cascade head also features Hart’s Cove trail head that will take you along the coast ling and features Coastal forests and prairies.

Come and enjoy the beautiful scenic trails just a few miles south of us in Northern Lincoln City. There are two trails that will give you breathtaking views. The lower trail is the more vigorous one being just over 4 miles long. While the upper one is more moderate and only one mile long. There are many rare wildflowers, and wildlife. To protect this environment please leave dogs and bikes at home. Keep an eye out for the rare wildflower called checker mallows, also the endangered silver spot butterfly caterpillar. Have fun, be safe and don’t forget your camera!

Gallery Shopping

The Rowboat Gallery is located in the shop called Village Merchants - a small shop, full of interesting things.  Unique jewelry, recycled glass, hand made baskets & more.  There are several other galleries located in Pacific City. To name a few, Pacific City Gallery, Desert Moon, and Village Merchants, all great shops.  Most are located in downtown Pacific City.

Hiking in and around Pacific City

Hiking:  There are many hiking trails to explore within our county.  Stop by the office to pick up a copy of some of the hiking trails that are recommended for seeing some great wildlife and some excellent views.  Don’t forget to visit one of the highest waterfalls on the North Oregon Coast.  About 15 miles from Pacific City, off of hwy 101 (about 6 miles outside of Tillamook), is Munson Creek Falls County Park.  It’s absolutely breathtaking 2 mile round trip hike: a relatively easy hike for the whole family.
